Moving & handling people

Build familiarity with the equipment and judgement involved in supporting people to move. Practical discussion and supervised learning help connect safe working principles with everyday care situations.

First aid & refresher training

Refresh your understanding of responding to an emergency, raising the alarm and taking appropriate action within your training. Tell us about your role and any existing qualification so we can discuss a suitable session.

A refresher is not automatically an Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualification. Ask us to confirm the syllabus, duration, assessment and certificate before booking.

Care Circle staff induction

Our Newmarket training centre supports Care Circle staff with practical induction before they begin care work. We connect learning with the role, the people being supported and the standards expected in the placement.

Induction is arranged through your Care Circle coordinator. It complements recruitment checks and the receiving service’s own induction; attendance does not guarantee a placement.

Can I attend if I do not work for Care Circle?

Yes. We welcome enquiries from external care workers, support workers and employers for moving and handling and first-aid training. Tell us about your experience and the training your role requires so we can discuss a suitable option. Care Circle staff induction is arranged separately through our coordinators.

Can I book a refresher course?

Yes. Select the course you are interested in and choose ‘Refresh existing skills’. Please tell the team about your previous training, any expiry date and what your employer requires. We will confirm whether the proposed session meets those needs before you book.

Will I receive a qualification or certificate?

Please ask us to confirm the assessment and certificate arrangements for your chosen session before booking. A practical refresher, an attendance record and a regulated qualification are different things. We do not describe a course as accredited, or as EFAW or FAW, unless that specific course and its awarding arrangements have been confirmed.

What equipment is available at the training centre?

Our Newmarket head-office training centre has a nursing bed, an Oxford full-body hoist, wheelchairs and equipment for practical care learning. The equipment used in each session depends on the agreed course. Let us know if you need training relevant to a particular device or workplace.

How do I find dates, duration and fees?

Choose your training options and contact our team. We will confirm suitable dates, course duration, what is included and the total fee, including any applicable VAT, in writing before you commit. Group requirements are discussed individually. Sending an enquiry or preparing a request does not reserve a place.

Can you arrange training for a team?

We welcome external team enquiries. Select the employer option, tell us how many people need training and share your preferred timing. The team will discuss a suitable group arrangement and quotation; availability and class size are confirmed before a booking is accepted.

What should I check before attending?

Confirm the course is appropriate for your role, the venue arrangements, what you need to bring and any cancellation or rescheduling terms. If you need adjustments to take part comfortably, speak with the team in advance. Please do not send medical information through a general enquiry.
