Understanding the service

How the worker journey works

This is the worker journey, entirely separate from the provider Request Staff route. It is for nurses, senior carers, healthcare assistants, support workers, chefs, kitchen assistants and domestic staff who want temporary shifts, and it runs through Care Circle's own staff platform for registration, availability and bookings.

Available roles

Find your place in the care workforce

Different roles bring different registration, training and placement requirements. Care Circle reviews each application against the work being considered.

People register for different reasons: flexibility around family or study, additional shifts alongside a permanent post, experience across several settings before choosing a specialism, a return to practice, or a preference for choosing their own hours rather than working a fixed rota.

  • Registered General Nurses
  • Senior Carers and Team Leaders
  • Healthcare Assistants
  • Support Workers and complex-care workers
  • Chefs and Kitchen Assistants
  • Domestic staff

Registration journey

A clear route from registration to suitable work

The process covers registration and initial role information, compliance-document review, a discussion of roles and competencies, any training or evidence requirements, submitting availability through the staff platform, and receiving placement information, timesheets and communication once working.

Each stage below has a purpose, and none of them can be skipped. Where an applicant is not suitable for a particular type of work, Care Circle says so rather than presenting them to a client on an assumption.

  • Create a worker registration — open the Care Circle staff platform and provide your role, experience and contact details to begin the process
  • Provide identity, right-to-work and role evidence — original documents, share codes where relevant, employment history and references appropriate to the role
  • Complete the compliance process — including the DBS process at the level required and confirmation of any professional registration
  • Meet role-specific training expectations — mandatory training and any additional competencies needed for the shifts you wish to accept
  • Submit availability through the staff platform — availability determines which shifts can be offered, so keeping it current matters as much as your documents
  • Use the existing-worker login to manage work — view bookings, placement information and timesheets in one place once you are working

Working with Care Circle

Availability, placements and support

Registration is followed by a review of identity, right-to-work and role evidence, references and DBS, and confirmation of the training relevant to the work being considered. Applicants are asked to keep availability and documents current, because both determine which shifts can be offered.

  • Compliance-document review
  • Role and competency discussion
  • Training or evidence requirements
  • Availability and suitable work opportunities
  • Placement information, timesheets and communication

The professionals involved

Who delivers the service, and how competence is considered

Care Circle engages registered nurses, senior carers and team leaders, healthcare assistants, support and complex-care workers, chefs, kitchen assistants and domestic staff. Workers should undertake only duties within their verified competence and the client's authorised arrangements, and are supported to say so where a request falls outside it.

Competence is specific

A qualification or registration does not authorise every task. Care Circle matches professionals to the interventions written into the plan, and reassesses when needs, equipment or instructions change.

Professional expectations

Safe, accountable temporary work

Registration does not guarantee work or a particular shift pattern. Workers are expected to keep compliance information current, follow the client's policies and care plans while on placement, and report incidents, concerns and changes in circumstances through the agreed channels without delay.

  • Registration does not guarantee work or a particular shift pattern
  • Workers must keep compliance and availability information current
  • Only duties within verified competence and the client’s authorised arrangements should be undertaken
  • Concerns, incidents and changes must be reported through agreed channels
